What's Detective Comics #10 worth in 2024?
A rare gem to discover. The highest grade found is a 7.5 considered in very fine(VF) condition. The heftiest price this issue sold for was $6,800 in November 2016. Actually it is a bit higher than the recorded record high meaning the value of this comic is only going up due to its rarity. Lower grades such as 6.5 are considered a Fine plus condition last sold in 2018 for $4,320. A fair condition (1.5) copy still pricey with a last valued for $2,025, which was back in July 2022. This is compared to its previous value of $750 back in 2002...a rare gem issue indeed. The most recent sale of a 4.0 CGC was sold for $10,200 in September 2022.
Why is this comic book valuable?
Detective Comics #10 marks before superheroes existed which makes Detective Comic stand out. Issue 10 features stories with Detective Comics popular detectives Speedy Saunders and Larry Steel. These earlier issues are also well like for their bright artwork done by Creig Flessel, a well-known artist on Detective comics. These initial copies also hosted stories by Siegel and art by Shuster who were also well-known writers and artists on these earlier copies.
