If you are reading this article, you might be wondering, "what's the point of creating a superhero name?".
Well, apart from the fact that it's pretty fun to do. There is a wide range of reasons that you might want to do this.
The first is writing a story, a comic, a screenplay or even a book that requires you to come up with a hero name.
Then, you might be a parent who is playing games with your kids. Trust us, if you develop a whole superhero identity for your child, you will see a massive smile on your child's face.
Or perhaps you are involved in cosplay, and you are creating new costume designs and characters.
Regardless of the reason, coming up with superhero names is a fun activity to do.
How To Come Up With Your Superhero Name

While there are many ways and methods to come up with great ideas for names, here is one that we recommend.
Step 1.Check Out Our List of Hero Names Below
At the base of this article, you will find a huge list of hero names. Go through them and start to read each one.
This might seem like a pointless exercise. However, you are just loading your subconscious with fuel.
Step 2. Read a Comic or Watch a Hero Film
This is where we get you in the right frame of mind to come up with your superhero name. By watching a superhero movie or reading a comic, you will be in the 'zone'. If you want to get to work quickly, watching trailers and 'fan-made trailers is a good option.
Step 3. Create Your Hero Origin Story
Coming up with your name from scratch will be tough, especially if you want to be original.
However, one method is to start to think of the heroes origin story.
Are they from another planet? Are they young, or old? What country are they from? What do they look like? What powers do they have?
Who are their family members? What does their costume look like?
The more details you can come up with the better.
Step 4. Name Smash
At this point, you might already have a great name idea. But if you don't start to 'Hulk Smash' names together from existing hero names.

Step 5. Visit The Animal Kingdom
Your creative juices are flowing now, but don't give up yet. A good way to come up with more ideas is to visit the animal kingdom.
Search online for lists of animals and insects and then check out lists of the names and also the Latin names too and start breaking the names up and smashing them together.
Top tip: check out the history of the animals for ideas too.
For example, the Sawfish hails from the Anoxypristis genus.
Pristis is a great sounding word, you could combine that with Sole (as in the fish) and suddenly we have a new hero...Pristis Sole.

Step 6. Write Down Your Best 10 Ideas
When you are doing this, try and write down at least 10 ideas. Say them out loud, because some things written down don't sound the same when you verbalise them.
And out of those 10 will be a winner.
Step 7. Create A Secret Identity
The final step is to decide if your character needs a secret identity.
Of course, they might not. But if they do, you can either go to online names for babies lists.
And once you have the first name, you use the first letter to be the same first letter of the surname.
