The comics feature stories with a different hero for every issue, such as Zephyr Jones, Fiery Mask, etc. The comics were sold for two years, releasing eight issues.
After issue #8 featuring Citizen V, the series was renamed to Comedy Comics, which continued with issue #9.
Each issue featured six to eight chapters with one hero per issue, and since they were released from 1940 to 1942, they belong in the Golden Age of comics, where comics and superheroes were the bread and butter.

Issue #1
What's Daring Mystery Comics #1 worth in 2024?
Daring Mystery Comics #1 in Mint condition would probably approach $100,000 if one came up for sale. The highest graded copy, a CGC NM 9.4, on the CGC census sold for $67,000 back in 2006. Copies in FN 6.0 sell for about $9,000 which hasn't increased much in the past decade or so. Copies in GD 2.0 currently sell for about $2,000 and 10 years ago, it was $1,000 so there has been some price appreciation that grade. We don't recommend you buy this book if you're looking at it as a long term investment. There are so many other comics that have much more growth potential.
Why is this comic book valuable?
Daring Mystery Comics #1 was printed in 1941 by Timely Comics and features the introduction of a slew of superheroes that no one has ever heard of! Fiery Mask! Monako! John Steele! Doc Doyle! The best thing about this comic is the Alex Schomburg cover!

This issue topped out at a high sell price of $14,340 in 2009 for a VF 8.0. There are only twelve registered copies of this 1940 book on file, so sales data is limited. However, FN+ 6.5 did show a solid jump from $3,700 in 2017 to today's $6,000 value.

What's Daring Mystery Comics #3 worth in 2024?
Two copies of VF+ 8.5 mark the top grade for this issue, with a historical high price of $5,060 way back in 2003. It's possible the top grade owners are watching and waiting for the market to improve before another sale, as VF 8.0 below it dropped from $4,370 in 2004 to $3,800 in 2012. FN- 5.5 had a much stronger market, increasing from around $1,650 in 2014 to today's $4,000.

What's Daring Mystery Comics #4 worth in 2024?
The top price for this issue was $9,560 for a FN/VF 7.0 in 2009. Three years later in 2012, it would crash all the way down to $3,107! It's possible this doesn't truly reflect the issue's overall value. FN/VF 7.0 is not the top quality on record, as there are two grades above this one with no sales data available: a VF/NM 9.0, and one NM+ 9.6. The FN+ 6.5 history suggests a more stable market, with a small increase from $1,000 in 2003 to today's $1,600.
Why is this comic book valuable?
Issue #4 continues the early development of Purple Mask that started in #2.

Issue #5
What's Daring Mystery Comics #5 worth in 2024?
Three copies at VF 8.0 make up the top end grade for this issue. It sold for $3,200 in 2005, dropped to $2,300 in 2008, and last sold for $2,200 in 2012. It's possible this is a sleeping giant waiting to awaken. VG/FN 5.0 sold for $1,000 in 2004 and rocketed up to $12,000 in 2019! Either this is a massive outlier sale, or that VF 8.0 $2,200 price is ready to see an incredible increase.
Why is this comic book valuable?
Features a very early career cover by legendary artist Alex Schomburg. It depicts Fiery Mask, who made his debut in issue #1.

V2 Issue #7
What's Daring Mystery Comics V2 #7 worth in 2024?
The top grade of this issue is taken by a single NM+ 9.6, which sold for $9,560 in 2009. But this isn't the historical high. That mark was set at $12,250 three years later in 2012 by a lower grade: the single NM 9.4 on record. The small number of 33 registered copies makes for a market with limited data. Most grades had flat growth, though VG+ 4.5 did have a moderate climb from $700 in 2002 to today's $950.
Why is this comic book valuable?
The first appearance of Thunderer, a masked vigilante who takes fighting Nazis into his own hands!

What's Daring Mystery Comics V2 #8 worth in 2024?
The top grade for this book makes all the difference. The single VF 8.0 sold for a top price of $2,185 in 2003. Fourteen years later in 2017, FN/VF 7.0 got just under it, selling for $2,150. Surely the VF 8.0 is primed for a huge profit, in addition to the single VF+ 8.5 above it with no sales record. Other grades had slow but decent growth: a FN- 5.5 that went for around $1,000 in 2010 is now worth $1,400.
Why is this comic book valuable?
The first appearance of Citizen V, a hero who used spy tactics to root out and stop Nazi plans.
