Kate was originally featured on Fightin’ Marines #2, a bimonthly war comic from the early 50’s. Some recurring characters appeared along the issues, but Canteen Kate was highly liked and earned her own 3-book series in 1952.
Canteen Kate told the story about a gorgeous girl who works at the army (although she never really did any work) and was usually seen scheming and disguising herself in order to spend more time with her boyfriend, Al, who was enlisted.
The 3 issues of her story are very rare and valuable, mostly kept safe by collectors.
